A parody of xkcd comic 435: an axis of "purity" on which a few research domains are represented, with the label "fields arranged by purity" and stick figures representing the fields. The first field (deemed least pure) on the axis is sociology. Next to the sociologist there's a psychologist holding a clipboard and saying "sociology is just applied psychology". One place further is a biologist, holding a squid and bragging "psychology is just applied biology". Then comes a chemist with ponytail, who is holding a test tube and saying "biology is just applied chemistry". Then we meet a smug physicist who says "...which is just applied physics. It's nice to be on top." Then there's a larger empty space on the axis, after which we see a mathematician with long hair saying "Oh hey, I didn't see you guys all the way over there." So far, this was the original xkcd comic. The parody simply extends the axis, by leaving an even larger comical distance to a philosopher, pondering on a stone in reference to Auguste Rodin's famous sculpture "The Thinker". The philosopher isn't trying to talk down on the others but merely wonders "Define 'pure'..."
